Who are you, and how long have you been doing CrossFit, and why CrossFit?

I'm Asta Vilenius, and I've been doing CrossFit for at least 10 years. In CrossFit, you're never 'finished,' and there's always room for improvement. I like working hard towards goals, and in this sport, you get to do that a lot.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with either a pull-up bar or a weightlifting bar, and you could choose one of the following items to take with you, which one would you choose and why? A) SBD knee sleeves B) League Alpha grips C) League weightlifting belt

Definitely grips. Without them, it's hard to do any pull-up work! You can still handle a bar without gear in a tough situation.

Favourite CrossFit benchmark workout and your personal record

I haven't done benchmark workouts in light years! Probably something challenging for me would be a favourite, like Nate. I like difficult movements because the hard work shows in progress! (Nate: 20 min AMRAP 2 Muscle up + 4 HSPU + 8 KB Swing)

PR in any movement

Recently, my proudest moment was last summer's clean & jerk, lifting 97.5kg at Karjalan Kovin.

Your advice for a beginner in CrossFit Train with quality, remember rest days, and, above all, have fun.
