Great decision to introduce our amazing athletes on the blog! First up in the League Finland athlete spotlight is Ansku! We asked a few questions to all our athletes, and next, let's see how Ansku answered them.
- Who are you, and how long have you been doing CrossFit, and why CrossFit?
I've been doing CrossFit for 7 years. CrossFit was the first thing that interested me after a long break from sports.
- If you were stranded on a deserted island with either a pull-up bar or a weightlifting bar, and you could choose one of the following items to take with you, which one would you choose and why?
A) SBD knee sleeves
B) League Alpha grips
C) League weightlifting belt
- Definitely knee sleeves. Why? Because squats are the best.
- Favorite CrossFit benchmark workout and your personal record
- My favorite is probably Diane! I've done it in around 2:30-3:00, if I remember correctly. (Diane = 21-15-9 Reps For Time, Deadlifts (225/155 lb) & Handstand Push-Ups)
- PR in any movement
- Snatch 65KG. It's important because it's the most I've ever snatched, and I did it after giving birth.
- Your advice for a beginner in CrossFit
- Attend WODs and focus on mastering the basics. Get the techniques right before adding weights.
- Best memory or experience in the sport?
- Tough one... the best ones have been benchmark workouts in WODs and competitions! I guess that competitive spirit shouts the loudest there."
